If the owner of the mailing list allows open subscribe/unsubscribe requests, users may add or remove themselves by sending an email request to the listserv system.
- Mailman Users
- To subscribe to Mailman list, users should send an email from the address they want subscribed to:
LISTNAME-join@auburn.edu (where LISTNAME is the name of the list)
- To unsubscribe to Mailman list, users should send an email from the address they want unsubscribed to:
LISTNAME-leave@auburn.edu (where LISTNAME is the name of the list)
- Majordomo Users
- To subscribe to Majordomo list, users should send an email to:
majordomo@auburn.edu
with an empty subject and the following in the body:
"subscribe LISTNAME" (where LISTNAME is the name of the list)
- To unsubscribe to Majordomo list, users should send an email to:
majordomo@auburn.edu
with an empty subject and the following in the body:
"unsubscribe LISTNAME" (where LISTNAME is the name of the list)
If the owner does not allow users to openly subscribe or unsubscribe from the list, users may contact the owner by email to request to be added/removed. The owner contact address for both Mailman and Majordomo lists is: LISTNAME-owner@auburn.edu (where LISTNAME is the name of the list).
