For Auburn University students admitted to Auburn in Summer/Fall 2023 or later, mathematics course placement will be determined by the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment. First-year and transfer students who have been accepted to Auburn University, have an Auburn login, and have submitted the enrollment deposit can take the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment.
Incoming students must complete the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment before attending Camp War Eagle or SOS orientation.

Incoming students who have submitted the enrollment deposit may access the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment. To access it:
1) Log in to AU Access.
2) Go to the Academic Portals card.
3) Select Student Self-Service.
4) Choose ALEKS Math Placement Assessment.
Note: Students need to be registered for Duo multi-factor authentication in order to access ALEKS.
Respondus LockDown Browser with Respondus Monitor are required for the ALEKS Math Placement Assessment. Before taking the assessment, please visit the ALEKS System Requirements Page to download and install the required software and verify that your device is compatible.
Respondus LockDown Browser is a secure testing browser that restricts access to other applications during the assessment. Respondus Monitor uses a webcam to record the testing session and flags potential suspicious activity for later review.
