EndNote is a reference management software used by researchers, academics, and professionals to organize, annotate, and cite bibliographic references. It offers a centralized platform for storing and managing references, enabling users to create personalized libraries of research materials. EndNote allows users to import references from various sources, including online databases, websites, and PDFs, and organize them into customizable groups and categories.
The following instructions explain how to install EndNote 21 and how to set up/connect your EndNote Web online account. Note: If you have a prior version of EndNote before version 21, you will need to install EndNote 21 or upgrade to EndNote 21.
1. Visit the EndNote software installation link.
2. Look for the EndNote 21 installation file and download it.
3. Once the download is complete, locate the file and run the installer.
4. Follow the onscreen prompts to install EndNote 21.
5. Restart your computer.
You have two options for this:
Option 1:
1. In EndNote, open the main Library window.
2. Click the "Sync" button in the toolbar. This will open the EndNote online login dialog.
3. Click the "Sign-Up" button to register and activate (if you already have an online login, you can use your existing online login).
4. Follow the onscreen prompts.
Option 2:
1. In EndNote, go to the Edit menu (or EndNote menu on macOS).
2. Select "Preferences" and then choose "Sync."
3. Click the "Enable Sync" button. This will take you to the EndNote online login dialog.
4. Click the "Sign Up" button to register and activate (if you already have an online login, you can use your existing online login).
5. Follow the onscreen prompts.
