To configure your iOS device for Auburn email using the native iOS mail app, follow the instructions below. Instructions are based on the most recent version of iOS available. If you are experiencing sync issues related to your Auburn email using the native iOS mail app, try removing and readding your Auburn email from the native iOS mail app (removal instructions are listed at the end of this article).
1. On your iOS device, tap Settings. Scroll down and tap Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > Add Account.
2. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
3. Enter your full Auburn email address (username@auburn.edu) and tap Next.
4. Tap Sign In. When prompted that "settings wants to use microsoftonline.com to sign in," tap Continue.
5. Next, if you see a Microsoft prompt, be sure to choose Work or School Account. You will be redirected to an Auburn login page. Enter your Auburn password and tap Sign In. Accept the Duo authentication prompt.
6. Toggle from the five options (mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, and notes) that you would like to sync with iOS mail and tap Save. Your Auburn email should now appear in the native iOS mail app.
Note: Removing your Auburn email (Exchange account) does not cancel or delete the entire email account; it only removes it from your iPhone device. If you are experiencing syncing issues, often removing and readding the Exchange account will solve the sync issues.
1. On your iOS device, tap Settings. Scroll down and tap Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts.
2. Tap Exchange.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. If you need to readd your Auburn email account after deleting it (i.e. due to sync issues), repeat steps 1-6 listed at the beginning of this article.
Additional information on adding and removing native email accounts on iPhone can be found in the Apple iPhone User Guide (choose your iOS version from the drop-down menu on the site).
