VPN may be needed to connect to university resources when not on campus. The Palo Alto Global Protect VPN Client can be found in the mobile users' app store and can be downloaded and installed on a mobile device.
Note: In order to access the Global Protect VPN Client, a user must first register a device through DUO for multifactor authentication. Please visit the DUO Knowledge Base article for instructions on registering a device.
Please select an option below to view instructions for installing the Palo Alto Global Protect VPN client on an iOS or Android mobile device.
1. From the App Store on your iOS device, search for and install the Global Protect app.
2. Once installed, tap the Global Protect globe icon on your home screen to open the app. When the notification message appears, you can select to either allow or not allow notifications from this app, and you will see Global Protect's Privacy Notice.
Next, you will see a screen asking for your portal address. Enter auvpn2.auburn.edu for the portal address and tap Connect. Again, you may see a notification message asking if you would like to allow or not allow VPN configurations on your device. When you select allow, you will be prompted to enter in your device's security passcode.
3. Next, you will be prompted to enter your Auburn login credentials. Enter your Auburn username and password and tap Sign In.
Note: You will receive an authentication login request from DUO that you will need to approve.
4. After authenticating with Duo, switch back to the Global Protect app. You will see a "VPN Health Check Finished" notification and the screen below that shows a successful connection. Please be sure to tap the same center button to disconnect your connection when you are finished using the Global Protect VPN.

2. Once installed, tap the Global Protect globe icon on your home screen to open the app. When the notification message appears, you can select to either allow or not allow notifications from this app.
3. You may also see a screen notifying you of Global Protect's connection to your organization's resources. Tap OK.
4. You will then see a screen asking for your portal address. Enter auvpn2.auburn.edu for the portal address and tap Connect.
5. Next, you will be prompted to enter your Auburn login credentials. Enter your Auburn username and password and tap Sign In.

6. From Duo, switch back to the Global Protect app. You will see a "VPN Health Check Finished" notification and the screen below that shows a successful connection. Please be sure to tap the same center button to disconnect your connection when you are finished using the Global Protect VPN.
