ProctorU: Instructor Guide to Setting Up Record+ and Review+ Exams


ProctorU is an essential tool for ensuring the integrity of online exams at Auburn University. The Office of the Provost currently funds two of ProctorU's three available services, with coverage through Spring 2025:

These services provide robust levels of proctoring to meet the diverse needs of online assessments.

Auburn University uses Single Sign-On (SSO) for ProctorU, meaning instructors and students can easily access ProctorU with their Auburn credentials. This guide will walk you through the steps to set up Record+ and Review+ exams in your Canvas course, ensuring a smooth and secure exam process.


Setting up a ProctorU Record+ Exam in Canvas: 

Funding: The Office of the Provost pays for ProctorU Record+ exams through Spring 2025.

Exam Availability: ProctorU Record+ exams are on-demand, allowing test-takers to take the exam within the time frame set in your Canvas quiz's "Assign" section.

Proctoring Process: Review+ exams are scheduled with a live-proctored launch and require manual submission for review.
