TechSmith Camtasia
A software suite for creating and recording video tutorials.
Techsmith Camtasia is a powerful screen recording and video editing software designed for creating professional-quality videos. It enables individuals to capture their computer screen, record webcam footage, and create polished video content with ease. Camtasia offers a wide range of features including screen recording, video editing, audio enhancement, and interactive quizzes to engage viewers. With its intuitive interface and extensive library of pre-designed templates and assets, Camtasia empowers users to create dynamic video presentations, tutorials, training materials, and marketing videos.
How to Obtain Software
Camtasia software is available to Auburn University employees. There is an annual fee to maintain an active license.
To obtain Camtasia software, employees should visit the Camtasia software catalog page at aub.ie/getcamtasia. From this page, complete the request form and use the Order Now link to purchase a perpetual license. Additional instructions will be provided during fulfillment.
How to Install Software
After the software fulfillment process is complete, new TechSmith Camtasia subscribers will receive an email welcome message with installation instructions.
1. To install the application, download the Camtasia software (for Windows or Mac). The download link is also provided in the welcome email. If you need help with the installation process, contact your IT Provider for assistance.
2. Open the downloaded package, select your language, and click OK. Check that you accept the License Terms, and click Install.
3. When the installation is complete, click Finish.
4. Camtasia may prompt you to answer personalized questions related to how you plan to use the product. Answer and click Submit to move to the next step.
5. Next, click Sign In. A new window may launch and prompt you to create an account. Enter your Auburn email address, click Continue, and create a password for your Camtasia account.
6. After your account is created, click Enter Software Key. Enter the software activation key that was provided to you in the welcome email, and click Unlock Camtasia.
7. Click Open Camtasia.
8. From here, you will see the Camtasia user interface and can select to begin new projects or open existing projects.
