Snagit enables individuals to capture screenshots or record video of their computer screen, edit and enhance the captured content, and share it with others. Snagit offers a wide range of features including scrolling capture, text recognition, annotation tools, and various image effects to create professional-looking visuals. With its intuitive interface and versatile capabilities, Snagit is widely used by professionals, educators, and individuals for tasks such as creating tutorials, documentation, presentations, and visual communication. It provides an efficient and user-friendly solution for capturing, editing, and sharing screen content across different platforms and applications.
How to Obtain Software
Snagit software is available to Auburn University employees. There is an annual fee to maintain an active license.
To obtain Snagit software, employees should visit the Snagit software catalog page at aub.ie/getsnagit. From this page, complete the request form and use the Order Now link to purchase a perpetual license. Additional instructions will be provided during fulfillment.
How to Install Software
After the software fulfillment process is complete, new TechSmith Snagit subscribers will receive an email welcome message with installation instructions.
1. To install the application, download the Snagit software (for Windows or Mac). The download link is also provided in the welcome email. If you need assistance with the installation process, contact your IT Provider for assistance.
2. Open the downloaded package, check that you accept the License Terms, and click Install.
3. When the installation is complete, click Continue.
4. Click Enter Software Key, and enter the software activation key that was provided to you in the welcome email.
5. After entering the activation key, click Unlock.
6. Snagit may prompt you to answer personalized questions related to how you plan to use the product. Answer and click Save to move to the next step.
7. You will see the Snagit user interface. Click the Capture circle to capture a screenshot.
8. After capturing a screenshot in Snagit, the Snagit Editor will display where you can adjust your image using various editing features.

If you are interested in earning a Snagit Certification, log in and complete the four training sessions at the Snagit certification page. Successful completion requires about 95 minutes of video training and passing brief knowledge checks.
