Determining if a message is spam is based on a number of factors, including the reputation of the sender, the content of the message, other data that is sent along with the email message, the quality and type of attachments, and the number of recipients.
Items may inadvertently be placed in your Junk Email folder and treated like spam, even though they may truly not be spam. Consider the following options:
If the message comes from a person or company that should be trusted campus-wide, forward that message (as an attachment) to spamreport@auburn.edu. We will then work to get that person or company promoted to a trusted status.
If you trust the person or company but believe others may still consider the message junk, from your Junk Email folder, right-click on the email message, click Report, and then click Not Junk.
You will see a pop-up window notifying you that the email address will be added to Safe Senders and that future messages from the sender will never be sent to the Junk Email folder. Click Report to report the message as Not Junk. The email will then be moved from the Junk Email folder to your Inbox.
