Accessing VMware Horizon on a Web Browser

VMware Horizon (Omnissa VMware Horizon) is a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platform that allows users to securely access virtual desktops and applications from almost any device and location. Instead of installing and running software directly on a user's computer, Horizon Clients for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android allow you to connect to your virtual desktop from your device of choice, giving you on-the-go access from any location.

Follow the instructions below for accessing the Horizon virtual desktop on a web browser:

  1. Open a web browser of choice (i.e. Google Chrome) and navigate to horizon.auburn.edu.
  2. Click VMware Horizon HTML Access on the right-hand side.
  3. Type your Auburn username and password, and click Login.
  4. When you log in, you will be prompted to verify your identity via Duo multi-factor authentication. Accept the Duo push on your device.
  5. Once connected, you will see the virtual desktop interface. Click the virtual desktop of your choice.
