ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM) v2.0

The Common Service Data Model (CSDM) represents a standard and shared set of service-related definitions and best practice guidance on service modeling within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The CSDM also provides prescriptive guidance on modeling and use of the CMDB for configuration management strategies. CSDM v2.0 was released in conjunction with the New York release of ServiceNow to incorporate enhanced functionality in Application Portfolio Management (APM), Service Portfolio Management (SPM), Customer Service Management (CSM), IT Service Management (ITSM), and IT Operations Management (ITOM).

This knowledge base article provides information on the CSDM as well as a collaborative implementation strategy that compliments the Higher Eduction IT Service Catalog used as a working model for Auburn's IT Service Model and CMDB.
