HOW TO INSTALL AND CONFIGURE OMNISSA HORIZON CLIENT FOR CLA VIRTUAL MACHINE ACCESS


First-time Setup Instructions:

 

  1. Download the Omnissa Horizon Client (Do not use Safari) -https://horizon.auburn.edu
  2. You can either choose to install the VMware Horizon Client to your device, OR access the virtual machine via VMware Horizon HTML Access. The client will be an application that is installed on your device. The HTML access option will connect you via internet browser every time.
  3. For on or off-campus use, ensure you have DUO Multi-Factor Authentication set up. To setup DUO visit DUO Setup instructions.

If you chose the Client install, Open the Omnissa Horizon Client.

 

  1. Click the “Add Server” link to add a new connection.

5. Enter "horizon.auburn.edu" for the connection server.

6. Click the Connect button.

You will now check your mobile phone for the DUO application Push notification. Choose "Approve."

 

7. Once the DUO authentication is approved by the user, you should see a “CLA” option for virtual machine access. Select it.

Setup VMware Horizon client for Off-Campus use:

1. Open the VMware Horizon Client.

2. Click the "+" symbol to add a new connection.

3. Enter "horizon.auburn.edu" for the connection server.

4. Click the Connect button

5. After entering your Auburn username (ex: auburn\username OR username@auburn.edu) and password, you will be required to answer your DUO Multi-Factor Authentication prompt on your mobile device. It is best to have the DUO app on your mobile device open and ready for the push notification because the prompt is not always set to notify you by default.  If you do not get this prompt, then the connection will fail.
