Announcement: Updates on Proctoring Services for Auburn University
Auburn University's Provost Office will continue to cover the costs for ProctorU Record+ and ProctorU Review+ services through Spring 2025. This initiative ensures that students can access essential proctoring services without financial burden. However, it's important to note that ProctorU Live+ services will still require a fee paid by the students.
Proctoring Services Supported by Auburn University:
ProctorU Record+
- Funding: Paid by the Office of the Provost through Spring 2025.
- Description: Offers a fully automated test launch with a professional review at the end. ProctorU manages the review process, flagging suspicious behaviors and providing incident reports to instructors.
- Use Case: Ideal for regular or low-stakes quizzes; does not require a scheduled launch.
ProctorU Review+
- Funding: Paid by the Office of the Provost through Spring 2025.
- Description: Begins with a live proctored launch, switching to an automated system after the exam starts. A professional review is conducted at the end to ensure integrity.
- Use Case: Recommended for most exams, especially when specific materials are allowed.
ProctorU Live+
- Cost: $15 per exam, paid by the student.
- Description: Continuously monitored from start to finish, including a room scan and checks for unauthorized resources. Real-time intervention is available if suspicious activity is detected.
- Use Case: Essential for international students, especially those in locations with significant digital restrictions.

Respondus LockDown Browser
- Funding: Covered by a university license; no cost to students.
- Description: Restricts exam access to a secure browser environment to prevent browsing and external interactions.
- Use Case: Recommended for in-classroom computer-based tests or those conducted at Biggio Testing Services.
Respondus Monitor
- Cost: $15 per year, paid by the student, covers unlimited classes and quizzes.
- Description: Utilizes AI to flag suspicious activities during exams. Instructors are responsible for reviewing flagged content.
- Use Case: Best suited for courses with frequent quizzes.
In-Person Proctoring:
Biggio Testing Services
- Cost: Free for students.
- Location: NCTA-certified testing center in Biggin Hall.
- Details: Offers full proctoring services. Instructors can set exams to be managed entirely by the Testing Center or actively participate in the process.
