Auburn University has an Adobe contract that allows any employee or student with an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription the ability to obtain and use Adobe Fonts.
1. To activate and download Adobe Fonts, start by opening your Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application (instructions for downloading the desktop application are available at aub.ie/adobeinstall). Log in using your Auburn University credentials, which are linked to the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription provided through the university's contract. Once logged in, you will have access to thousands of typefaces suitable for various design applications.
2. Click the “f” on the upper-right menu of your Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app.
3. Fonts you have already added or activated will appear here under “Added fonts”. These fonts are already available in your Adobe Creative Cloud applications. If you would like to install the font to your computer for local computer use in other applications such as Microsoft Office, click “Install Family” or the cloud icon next to the font. You may need to quit the desktop applications and restart them for the font to appear after installing.
4. To select and add fonts, click “Browse more fonts” to browse the Adobe Fonts library and use the search or filter tools to find typefaces that meet your creative needs. For Auburn University-branded fonts, refer to the Auburn University Brand Center to ensure alignment with institutional guidelines.
5. Once you’ve found a font you want to add, click the “Add Family” button, which will sync the font with your Adobe Creative Cloud account. Added fonts are automatically available in your Adobe applications for use in projects.
If you would like to install the font to your computer for local computer use in other applications such as Microsoft Office, go back to your Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app, click “f” for the Fonts screen, find the Added Font you wish to install, click “Install Family” or the cloud icon next to the font as shown in the screenshot #2 above. You may need to quit the desktop applications and restart them for the font to appear after adding/ installing.
Remember that all fonts activated through this service are commercially safe under the university’s licensing terms. Fonts acquired through other non-Adobe Fonts means are not commercially safe.
