Overview
The Ignore Conversation feature in Microsoft Outlook helps users manage clutter in their inbox by automatically moving all current and future emails in a selected conversation thread to the Deleted Items folder. This is useful for long email chains that are no longer relevant to you.
When you ignore a conversation:
- All existing messages in the selected conversation are moved to the Deleted Items folder.
- Any future messages that are part of the same conversation thread will also be automatically deleted.
- The conversation is tracked by Outlook, so even if the subject line changes slightly, related replies will still be ignored.
How to Ignore a Conversation
- Open Outlook.
- Select the email conversation you want to ignore.
- Go to the Home tab on the ribbon.
- Click Ignore in the Delete group.
- Confirm by clicking Ignore Conversation in the dialog box. (Tip: You can also right-click the conversation and select Ignore from the context menu.
