ITIL defines a Standard Change as a low-risk, pre-authorized change that is well understood and fully documented, and which can be implemented without needing additional authorization.
REMEMBER
A Change Request includes the time to complete the task AND the time for functional testing by stakeholders to validate the change success. Timely functional testing reduces risk and impact from possible necessary rollbacks.
Search for your Standard change template (by entering your search string) or select from the Standard Change Template categories to filter the selection.
6. Complete all the required fields for the Standard Change Request, click on the Save button
located at the top right corner of this page.
7. Click the Set Schedule button in the Schedule section of the Overview page
8. A new tab will open with the conflict calendar visible. Select your Planned start date
and Planned end date. Then click Schedule to run the conflict calendar.
9. Click the Details tab to return to the change process
10. Click the Schedule button in the top right corner of the workspace
11. When you are ready to begin the implementation of your change click the 'Implement' button in the top right corner of the workspace.
12.When the work is complete, click the Add Closure Information button in the Closure information section of the Overview page.
13.Complete the Closure Information form by selecting a Close Code and providing Close notes. Then, click the Save button in the top right corner of the workspace to close the Change.
Your Standard Change is now successfully closed.
