FAQs (Beta)
How does cross‑listing work with Simple Syllabus?
Instructors with cross‑listed sections will encounter a list of their sections when clicking Simple Syllabus in Canvas. This occurs because the instructor is enrolled in all sections of the cross‑listed course. Simple Syllabus provides a link to each section’s syllabus, and instructors must submit each separately.
Note: Students only see the syllabus of the section in which they are enrolled.

Can I verify whether students can see my syllabus through Student View in Canvas?
Simple Syllabus access is based on Banner enrollment. Because the Test Student is not enrolled in Banner, Canvas’s Student View cannot open Simple Syllabus.
How can I list non‑textbook items in the Required Materials field?
The Required Materials field is tied to AU Bookstore textbook data. To list non‑textbook items, you may type the item title directly and leave other fields blank, or create a new field called “Required Materials Additional Information” and reorder it beneath Required Materials.
