Overview: 


Microsoft Loop is a collaboration app in Microsoft 365 that helps teams work together in real time. It brings people, content, and tasks into a shared workspace where everyone can contribute, stay aligned, and track progress across projects.

Loop is built around three main elements:

Loop Components:

Portable pieces of content that can be shared and edited across Microsoft 365 apps, including:

Changes made to a Loop component automatically sync everywhere it is shared.

You can access Loop through:

To access Microsoft Loop, you'll sign in using your Microsoft 365 account (AU credentials).

Creating a Workspace 


  1. Open Microsoft Loop.
  2. Select Create New Workspace (+ icon).
  3. Enter a workspace name.
  4. Choose an icon and cover image if desired.
  5. Select Create.
  6. Invite team members by selecting Share and entering their names or email addresses.

Creating a Page 


  1. Open a workspace.
  2. Select New Page.
  3. Enter a title.
  4. Begin typing content directly on the page.
  5. Use the / (slash) command to insert content such as tables, task lists, checklists, images, files, links, or code blocks. Some of the common slash commands include:
    • /tasklist: create a task list
    • /checklist: create a checklist
    • /table: insert a table
    • /image: add an image
    • /divider: insert a divider
    • /date: add a date

Creating a Loop Component


Microsoft components allow content to stay synchronized across multiple apps.

In Microsoft Teams:

  1. Open a Teams chat or channel.
  2. Select the Loop Component icon.
  3. Choose a component type (table, checklist, task list, paragraph).
  4. Enter your content.
  5. Send the message.

Everyone with access can edit the component directly within Teams.

In Outlook:

  1. Start a new email.
  2. Select Loop Component from the message toolbar.
  3. Choose a component type.
  4. Add content and send the message.

Recipients can collaborate directly in the email without sending multiple replies.
