The Office of Information Technology would like to welcome you to your home on campus! You will see multiple wireless access options during your time in the AU residence halls. This article will briefly explain the wireless options available and how they can work for you.

*Note: 160 Ross, 191 College, and The Union are considered off-campus AU Housing and are not included in the on-campus residence hall wireless service.

The following wireless options (SSIDs) will be accessible to you in the AU residence halls:

eduroam

eduroam is the secure, global WiFi network for the research and education community, providing students, researchers, and staff with internet access on campus and at participating institutions worldwide. eduroam is the wireless network to use for connecting devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops. In addition to the AU residence halls, eduroam is the wireless network to connect to in campus buildings across Auburn.

How to Connect Your Device to eduroam:

Choose "eduroam" in your device's WiFi settings and sign in with your full Auburn email address (username@auburn.edu) and password.

AU_ResHalls

AU_ResHalls is available in all on-campus residence halls. Note: 160 Ross, 191 College, and The Union are considered off-campus AU Housing and are not included in the on-campus residence hall wireless service.

AU_ResHalls is the wireless network that should be used to connect devices such as gaming consoles, streaming devices (i.e., Roku, Firesticks, Apple TV), Smart TVs, DVRs, and home automation devices (i.e., Amazon Alexa, Amazon Echo Dot, Google Home) to the internet.

How to Connect Your Device to AU_ResHalls:

No device registration is needed, but a WiFi network password is required to join.
Students living in the on-campus residence halls will find the AU_ResHalls WiFi network password by logging into the Housing Student Portal at aub.ie/studentportal under the Resident Resources section. The portal is only available to students who are currently checked into their residence hall room.
To connect, find AU_ResHalls under the WiFi connection options on your device, and enter the WiFi network password.
The AU_ResHalls WiFi network password will change annually.

Personal Printers

Students living in the residence halls can choose to bring a personal printer to campus, but they cannot connect it to the WiFi. These printers will need to be connected to computers via USB or Bluetooth.
